Welcome back! I can't wait to show you some of the latest images I have been working on. These are a super fun treat from an educational workshop me and my BFF organized for some of our fellow photographers.
Haley (class of 2019), Maddie (one of our makeup artists) and I boarded the plane at PDX and enjoyed the nearly 3-hour flight to Albuquerque. When we landed the warm air was a shock compared to the brisk Portland morning, we had left behind, but we were thrilled to be enjoying the beautiful weather.
With the number of models and photographers that we had, I certainly have a ton of images I am excited to share with you, but I will make more posts about those later. For now, I want to focus on my girl Haley who joined us from Sheldon High School in Eugene, Oregon.
Haley, the Captain of the cheerleading team, was a delight to take on one of our senior destination trips. We had the best time together. From our time in hair and makeup and wardrobe to the three shoots, we loved getting to spend time together.
Our First shoot was at a place in Santa Fe called Meow-Wolf. It is an interactive art installation. If you make the trip (which you totally should, because it's awesome) don't forget to pre-purchase your ticket online, it is popular enough that even the earliest admittance times were sold out of tickets the day we went so I can't emphasize that enough. Photographers, it's very dark here so be prepared, only small handheld lights are allowed, no strobes.
Teens attending should consider that brighter colors will show up much better than dark ones in Meow Wolf, so give yourself a quick double-check of your outfit if you are hoping to get excellent photos there.
We also shot together at a place called Bonanza Creek Movie Ranch. It's a beautiful Hollywood movie set that has had a bunch of rad movies, and TV shows shot there. It's not open to the public, so you do have to make arrangements ahead of time. These are a few of my favorites from there.
We were happy to come home to Oregon, but we will keep a special place in our hearts that is just for Santa Fe, forever.
Until next time. Stay Wild.
P.S. If you are curious about how you too can go on a Senior Destination trip, shoot me a text and we can have a little chat about it. :)
